Motion Final

Blurred Subject...ISO: 3200; Shutter Speed: 1/13; Aperture: 3.5
Frozen Motion...ISO: 100; Shutter: 1/80; Aperture: 5.6
Panning... ISO: 1600; Shutter: 1/60; Aperture: 5.0
Zooming...ISO: 800; Shutter: 1/10; Aperture: 5.6
X
Light Writing... ISO: 400; Shutter: Bulb; Aperture: 18.0

Reflection: This assignment mostly taught me about shutter speed and how to capture fast moving objects clearly (if needed-like in sports) or playing with motion for composition. My favorite would be my light writing picture.

Image
E/P of Design
Rationale

Framing

It's framing the land/scenery and people

Pattern/Repetition

There pattern of leaves the repeats because its in a circle

Bird's Eye View

Taking a picture "from a bird's perspective/view"

Rule of Thirds

If this photo was split into 3 sections, vertically, the bird would only take up one section, thus putting focus on it using the rule of thirds

Leading Lines

using lines to direct your attention to something (two lines leading to something in the middle of them, typically in the distance.)

Vertical Lines

The fence and windows on the buildings grab someone's attention because of the angle the photo is at. (Has vertical lines.)

Unity

All of these are colored pencils /all go together

Asymmetrical Balance

If the photo was split in half, its going to be different on each side/half

Symmetrical Balance

If split in half, it will look the same/ be symmetrical

Horizontal Lines

Has horizontal lines with the plants/dead crops or whatever/ the rows

Diagonal Lines

Diagonal lines behind the girl

Proportion/Scale

The men are smaller than the ink bottle

Texture

This is focusing on the yarn (thus the texture of it)

Curved Lines

Steps are curved

Movement/Rythm

The birds were moving which created rythm

Worm's Eye View

Taking a picture "from a worm's perspective/view"

Emphasis

Making the back round black and white while keeping the plant colored catches the eye therefore makes it the main focal point

Variety

Lots of different things seen here

Simplicity

Just an egg and white back round, very basic or simple

Horizon Line

There is a horizon line in this photo/ line in distance gong horizontally which kinda draws the focus towards itself

Composition Questions

1) Composition is the arrangement of visual elements within the photograph

2) It is important because all elements within composition all work together to create a "good" photograph with a well knit structure.

3) A snapshot is a quick in the moment picture to capture the moment, mainly for memorable purposes, and has a few setbacks compositionally.

4) A photograph is a more planned picture and well composed and more artistic representation of a person or object.

5) Photography is the art of discovery

a) What interests me most is how it can reflect you (the photo) in a way and you can put in/ add your own style.
